Dr. Martin ten Hove

I am an eye surgeon and medical doctor who specializes in diagnosing and treating neurological diseases that affect vision.  This includes a broad range of common diseases such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease and traumatic brain injury, as well as many other rare neurological disorders. I am an Associate Professor and current Head of Ophthalmology at Queen's University, where I teach medical students, residents, and graduate students.

My early academic background in science and engineering led me to explore new ways to integrate technology with medical science.  I have research interests in a wide range of topics that vary from detecting eye movement abnormalities to protecting the visual cortex from the effects of concussion.  Interestingly, both of these projects have led to innovative solutions that have been published, patented and are now in practice.
